Every preowned car that comes to Carnation is segregated in to Certified Cars or Value Cars based on the make, age, mileage, number of owners, fuel type, condition, etc.

Only certain make/models that are up to 7 years of age, not exceeding 2 ownerships and 80,000 Kilometers, and good condition vehicles (Non Accidental, Non Rusted, Non Flooded with no major defects) are certified by us. Further, the cars are reconditioning at our state-of-the-art multi-brand workshops using genuine parts. And then the designated service engineers inspect the cars and certify them, only then these cars are sold to you with Carnation Warranty.

A CERTIFICATE OF TRUST
At Carnation we believe that your experience of buying a pre-owned car should extend beyond the point of sale, and thus we offer 2 free services and up to 1 year Engine and Gear Box warranty on all our certified pre-owned cars. Each Carnation Certified car also comes with a system generated Certificate and Free Service coupons that can be availed across all Carnation HUBs in India which ensures that your favorite pick is always in the safe hands.

That’s not all you will get a 6-month Carnation Roadside Assistance along with every Certified Car, which is a 24x7 break down rescue program which provides prompt service to you. In case of assistance for accident, break-down, a puncture, battery discharge, etc. across India we send a break-down assistance vehicle to wherever you are, whenever you need us.

Further, you don’t have to worry about the documentation of the car we sell you. Every certified pre-owned car at Carnation is sold to you with complete and transparent documentation, so all you have to worry about is your choice.

On Carnation Certified Preowned Cars warranty up to 1 year is provided on engine & gear box based on the make/model, age and mileage of the vehicle and 2 labor free services. The details of the Warranty & free services policy are as below:

Definitions:

Mechanical Breakdown or Failure: The inability of any Part(s), whether original manufacturer installed or like replacement, which has been maintained as recommended by the manufacturer to function in normal service.

Owner: The Owner means the customer to whom the Vehicle is sold by Carnation Auto for the purpose of personal non-commercial use and does not include a Motor Vehicle Dealer or trader or a garage owning the Vehicle for the purpose of reselling the Vehicle.

Engine: Cylinder head, head gasket, oil pump and drive, crankshaft, flywheel and ring gear, timing gears, belts and chains, camshaft, cam follower, valves (excluding burnt and pitted valves), valve gear, pistons, connecting rod, gudgeon pin, distributor drive, inlet and exhaust manifolds, bore / liner, turbo, intercooler units where factory fitted

Gear Box: Internal gears, shafts, synchromesh rings and hub, bushes, selector forks, drive chains, gear lever and bushes (Failure due to worn or burnt clutches and bands are not covered ) & Transfer Unit in case of 4 x 4 (Internal parts including: bearings, bushings, sprockets, chains, sleeves and gears (excluding electrical items). The transfer case is also covered if damage is caused by a Failure of any of the above covered components.)

Engine and Gear Box Part(s): The Engine and Gear box part means any mechanical component of the Engine and Gear Box, included in the original manufacturers’ original build specifications.

Seals and Gaskets: Seals and Gaskets are replaced only as part of repair or replacement of the above covered components. Leaking gaskets or seals are not covered.

Part(s): The part means any part, mechanical component of the vehicle, included in the original manufacturers’ original build specifications.

Carnation Auto: Carnation Auto India Pvt Limited having its registered office at 3/16, Shanti Niketan, 2nd Floor, New Delhi – 110021, India.

Vehicle: The Vehicle means the Vehicle described in the customer information section of this limited warranty.

Limited warranty:

Carnation Auto warrants that during the Term, and under normal use for personal noncommercial purposes, the Parts of the Engine and Gear box will be free, from any Failure for a cause other than normal wear and tear and ageing.  In case of Failure of any Engine and Gear box Part(s) in the Engine and/or Gear box system, Carnation Auto’s only obligation will be to repair or replace at its sole discretion any Engine and Gear box Part(s) found to be defective, with a minimum part or its equivalent at no cost to the Owner for Engine and Gear box Part(s) or labour. The Owner shall be responsible for any replacement or repair of any Parts not covered under this Limited Warranty or after expiry of this Limited Warranty, as the case may be.

THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND ARE GIVEN AND ACCEPTED IN LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; AND ANY OBLIGATION, LIABILITY, RIGHT, CLAIM, OR REMEDY IN CONTRACT OR TORT. THE REMEDIES OF THE OWNER SHALL BE LIMITED TO THOSE PROVIDED HEREIN TO THE EXCLUSION OF ANY OTHER REMEDIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOST PROFITS ARISING DUE TO SERVICES PERFORMED BY CARNATION AUTO LOSS OF TIME, INCONVENIENCE, BODILY INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR DUE TO ANY OTHER REASON WHATSOEVER EVEN IF CARNATION AUTO HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY THEREOF, OR KNEW OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THEREOF. NO AGREEMENT VARYING OR EXTENDING THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES, REMEDIES, OR THIS LIMITATION WILL BE BINDING UPON CARNATION AUTO UNLESS IN WRITING, SIGNED BY A DULY AUTHORIZED OFFICER OF CARNATION AUTO.

Exclusions to the Limited Warranty

This warranty shall not apply to:

• Normal maintenance service required including without limitation, oil and fluid changes, air/fuel, oil filters, headlight aiming, fastener retightening, wheel balancing, wheel alignment and tyre rotation, cleaning of carburetor or injectors, adjustments of carburetor, ignition timing and value clearance.
• The replacement of normal wear parts including without limitations bulbs, fuses, battery, tyres and tubes, spark plugs, contact breaker point, condenser, belts, hoses, wiper blades and brushes.
• No warranty is applicable on approved LPG/CNG kits fitted in the vehicle before or after purchase.
• No warranty is applicable on the vehicle as a whole, fitted with non-approved LPG/CNG kits.
• The Vehicle which has been used for motor sports activity, competition, racing or commercial use, for example a taxi.
• The Vehicle is rented to someone else.
• Failure occurring outside India.
• Failure caused by non-covered part(s) and any resulting consequential loss or damage
• Failure caused by contaminated fuels or fluids.
• Failure covered by warranty, any other service contract, or insurance policy.
• Any defect caused by misuse, negligence, abnormal use, or insufficient care.
• Failure caused due to towing.
• Storage and freight charges.
• Any Vehicle which has not been operated in accordance with the operating instructions specified by the original manufacturer.
• Any Vehicle which has been used for purpose other than what it was designed for.
• Insignificant defects which do not affect the function of the Vehicle including without limitation sound, vibration and fluid seep.
• Any natural wear and tear including without limitation, ageing etc.
• Any parts including seal and gaskets that are subject to replacement or refitment as part of normal servicing in the long-term maintenance schedule specified by the original manufacturer.
• Accessories fitting in Vehicle not approved by the original manufacturer.
• Paintwork, bodywork and molding, water entry into the Vehicle; corrosion of any part of the body; glass, lenses; lock cylinders and keys interior trims.
• V-belts, hoses and gas leaks in case of Air-conditioned Vehicles.
• Catalytic converters and mufflers.
• Air Bags, tyres, battery and Electronic parts like Sensors Electronic control module, Electronic power steering.
• Rubber and plastic parts expect oil seals and glass run.
• Any Vehicle, which has been assembled, dis-assembled, adjusted or repaired by other than Carnation Auto workshop.
• Any repairs or replacement required due to accident or collision.
• Any intentional or fraudulent act of the Owner or a driver, misuse of the Vehicle over loading or negligence, intrusion of foreign or harmful or injurious matter, lack or servicing or abuse to the continued use of the Vehicle after a fault has become evident or for consequential loss on the failure of parts not covered by this policy.
• Incidental and consequential loss of whatsoever nature, theft, accidental external means.
• Detention, confiscation, destruction or requisition by or under the order of any Government or Public or Local Authority.
• Directly or indirectly occasioned by or happening through or in consequence of volcanic eruption or other similar convulsion of nature and atmospheric disturbance.
• Directly or indirectly occasioned by or happening through or in consequence of war, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities, or war like operations, (whether war be declared or not) civil war, civil commotion, mutiny rebellion, revolution, insurrection, conspiracy, military or usurped power.
• Directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from ionizing radiations or contamination by radio activity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel or from any nuclear weapons material.  For the purpose of this exclusion combustion shall include any self-sustaining process of nuclear fission and fusion.
• An act of terrorism committed by a person or person acting on behalf of or in connection with any organization.

Owner’s Responsibility

In order to avail the benefits under the terms of this warranty, the Owner shall be responsible to ensure that the Vehicle is regularly serviced by the Carnation Auto outlet(s) / workshop (s) engaged in after sales service of Carnation Auto in accordance to the free services schedule attached hereto. In the event of any Failure, it is the responsibility of the Owner to:

1. Use all reasonable means to protect the Vehicle from additional damage.
2. Notify Carnation Auto or its Authorized Representatives or its Subsidiaries and obtain approval for a warranty service.
3. Furnish such information as may be reasonably be required.
4. Present this document to the outlet / workshop engaged in after sales service of Carnation Auto preowned cars whenever requesting free services or warranty service.
5. Deliver the complete Vehicle at Owner’s expenses to Carnation Auto at its outlet(s) / workshop(s). The Owner should contact Carnation Auto for instructions on where to obtain warranty service.

In the event this limited warranty is lost or destroyed the Owner should consult Carnation Auto for the procedure to be followed for replacement of this document.

Invalidity of the limited warranty

This limited warranty shall become invalid upon:

• Owner failing to maintain the odometer in working condition or disconnecting or tampering with it.
• Vehicle being repaired by anyone other than Carnation Auto, Authorized representative or Subsidiaries of Carnation Auto.

Transfer of limited warranty

The warranty shall be applicable to the new Owner only on providing all the documents establishing the new Owner’s identity & address and the Vehicle RC & insurance documents to Carnation Auto.

Rights of Lien-holder

A Lien-holder shall have no rights under this Comprehensive warranty.

Odometer

The odometer reading mentioned may not be the actual mileage covered by the Vehicle. Carnation Auto in any form doesn’t certify the odometer reading as the actual mileage run by the Vehicle. However, the odometer reading is merely used as reference for warranty & free services.

FREE INSPECTION SERVICE

In addition to the Limited Warranty, the Vehicle is also entitled for 2 Inspection Services free of cost which shall include only labor component of the inspection of the Vehicle. Owner shall be liable to bear the cost of any consumables, materials, or parts required to be used in the Vehicle. The said services must be availed only at Carnation Auto outlet(s) / workshop (s) engaged in after sales service of Carnation Auto Preowned Cars. The Free Inspection Services should be availed as per the following schedule.

GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

The validity, construction, and performances of terms herein shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India and Courts in New Delhi shall have exclusive jurisdiction with regard to any matter or dispute arising hereto.
